なお、あなたがたは時を知っているのだから、特に、この事を励まねばならない。すなわち、あなたがたの眠りからさめるべき時が、すでにきている。なぜなら今は、わたしたちの救が、初め信じた時よりも、もっと近づいているからである。夜はふけ、日が近づいている。それだから、わたしたちは、やみのわざを捨てて、光の武具を着けようではないか。そして、宴楽と泥酔、淫乱と好色、争いとねたみを捨てて、昼歩くように、つつましく歩こうではないか。あなたがたは、主イエス・キリストを着なさい。肉の欲を満たすことに心を向けてはならない。 [ロマ13:11-14]

Sing unto the Lord a new song. [Isa.42:10]

Sing aloud unto God our strength; make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob. Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery. ■ He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. Knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. [Rom.13:11-14]
