忍び抜いた人たちはさいわいであると、わたしたちは思う。 [ヤコ5:11]

患難をも喜んでいる。なぜなら、患難は忍耐を生み出し、忍耐は錬達を生み出し、錬達は希望を生み出すことを、知っているからである。そして、希望は失望に終ることはない。なぜなら、わたしたちに賜わっている聖霊によって、神の愛がわたしたちの心に注がれているからである。 ■ すべての訓練は、当座は、喜ばしいものとは思われず、むしろ悲しいものと思われる。しかし後になれば、それによって鍛えられる者に、平安な義の実を結ばせるようになる。 ■ わたしの兄弟たちよ。あなたがたが、いろいろな試錬に会った場合、それをむしろ非常に喜ばしいことと思いなさい。あなたがたの知っているとおり、信仰がためされることによって、忍耐が生み出されるからである。だから、なんら欠点のない、完全な、でき上がった人となるように、その忍耐力を十分に働かせるがよい。試錬を耐え忍ぶ人は、さいわいである。それを忍びとおしたなら、神を愛する者たちに約束されたいのちの冠を受けるであろう。 ■ キリストの力がわたしに宿るように、むしろ、喜んで自分の弱さを誇ろう。･･･わたしが弱い時にこそ、わたしは強いからである。 [ロマ5:3-5 | ヘブ12:11 | ヤコ1:2-4,12 | 2コリ12:9,10]

Behold, we count them happy which endure. [Jas.5:11]

We glory in tribulations: ... knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. ■ No chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. ■ My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
