あなたは罪をゆるす神、恵みあり、あわれみあります。 [ネヘ9:17]

ある人々がおそいと思っているように、主は約束の実行をおそくしておられるのではない。ただ、ひとりも滅びることがなく、すべての者が悔改めに至ることを望み、あなたがたに対してながく忍耐しておられるのである。 ■ わたしたちの主の寛容は救のためである。 [2ペテ3:9 | 2ペテ3:15]

わたしがあわれみをこうむったのは、キリスト・イエスが、まずわたしに対して限りない寛容を示し、そして、わたしが今後、彼を信じて永遠のいのちを受ける者の模範となるためである。 ■ これまでに書かれた事がらは、すべてわたしたちの教のために書かれたのであって、それは聖書の与える忍耐と慰めとによって、望みをいだかせるためである。 [1テモ1:16 | ロマ15:4]

Thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful. [Neh.9:17]

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. ■ The longsuffering of our Lord is salvation. [II Pet.3:9 | II Pet.3:15]

For this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. ■ Whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? ■ Rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
