彼はわたしの歩む道を知っておられる。彼がわたしを試みられるとき、わたしは金のように出て来るであろう。 [ヨブ23:10]

主はわれらの造られたさまを知り、われらのちりであることを覚えていられるからである。 ■ 彼は心から人の子を苦しめ悩ますことをされないからである。 [詩103:14 | 哀3:33]

神のゆるがない土台はすえられていて、それに次の句が証印として、しるされている。「主は自分の者たちを知る」。また「主の名を呼ぶ者は、すべて不義から離れよ」。大きな家には、金や銀の器ばかりではなく、木や土の器もあり、そして、あるものは尊いことに用いられ、あるものは卑しいことに用いられる。もし人が卑しいものを取り去って自分をきよめるなら、彼は尊いきよめられた器となって、主人に役立つものとなり、すべての良いわざに間に合うようになる。 [2テモ2:19-21]

彼は銀をふきわけて清める者のように座して、レビの子孫を清め、金銀のように彼らを清める。そして彼らは義をもって、ささげ物を主にささげる。 ■ わたしは･･･銀をふき分けるように、･･･これを精錬する。彼らはわたしの名を呼び、わたしは彼らに答える。わたしは『彼らはわが民である』と言い、彼らは『主はわが神である』と言う。 [マラ3:3 | ゼカ13:9]

September 30, Morning

He knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. [Job.23:10]

He knoweth our frame. ■ He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. [Psa.103:14 | Lam.3:33]

The foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. [II Tim.2:19-21]

He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. ■ I ... will refine them as silver is refined, ... they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, the Lord is my God.
