あなたは知らなかったか、あなたは聞かなかったか。主はとこしえの神、地の果の創造者であって、弱ることなく、また疲れることなく、･･･弱った者には力を与え、勢いのない者には強さを増し加えられる。 ■ 恐れてはならない、わたしはあなたと共にいる。驚いてはならない、わたしはあなたの神である。わたしはあなたを強くし、あなたを助け、わが勝利の右の手をもって、あなたをささえる。 ■ あなたは貧しい者のとりでとなり、乏しい者の悩みのときのとりでとなり、･･･熱さをさける陰となられた。あらぶる者の及ぼす害は、石がきを打つあらしのごとく、･･･。 [イザ40:28,29 | イザ41:10 | イザ25:4]

あなたがたの知っているとおり、信仰がためされることによって、忍耐が生み出されるからである。だから、なんら欠点のない、完全な、でき上がった人となるように、その忍耐力を十分に働かせるがよい。 ■ だから、あなたがたは自分の持っている確信を放棄してはいけない。その確信には大きな報いが伴っているのである。神の御旨を行って約束のものを受けるため、あなたがたに必要なのは、忍耐である。 [ヤコ1:3,4 | ヘブ10:35,36]

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart. [Psa.27:14]

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. ■ Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. ■ Thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. The trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. ■ Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
