高ぶった思いをいだかず、かえって低い者たちと交わるがよい。 [ロマ12:16]

わたしの兄弟たちよ。わたしたちの栄光の主イエス・キリストへの信仰を守るのに、分け隔てをしてはならない。神は、この世の貧しい人たちを選んで信仰に富ませ、神を愛する者たちに約束された御国の相続者とされたではないか。 [ヤコ2:1,5]

だれでも、自分の益を求めないで、ほかの人の益を求めるべきである。 ■ ただ衣食があれば、それで足れりとすべきである。富むことを願い求める者は、誘惑と、わなとに陥り、また、人を滅びと破壊とに沈ませる、無分別な恐ろしいさまざまの情欲に陥るのである。 [1コリ10:24 | 1テモ6:8,9]

それだのに神は、知者をはずかしめるために、この世の愚かな者を選び、強い者をはずかしめるために、この世の弱い者を選び、有力な者を無力な者にするために、この世で身分の低い者や軽んじられている者、すなわち、無きに等しい者を、あえて選ばれたのである。それは、どんな人間でも、神のみまえに誇ることがないためである。 [1コリ1:27-29]

Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. [Rom.12:16]

My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? [Jas.2:1,5]

Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth. ■ Having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. [I Cor.10:24 | I Tim.6:8,9]

God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise: and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: that no flesh should glory in his presence.
