3月17日夕

罪は犯されなかったが、すべてのことについて、わたしたちと同じように試錬に会われたのである。 [ヘブ4:15]

女がその木を見ると、それは食べるに良く[肉の欲]、目には美しく[目の欲]、賢くなるには好ましい[虚栄]と思われたから、その実を取って食べ、また共にいた夫にも与えたので、彼も食べた。[1ヨハ2:16より] [創3:6]

すると試みる者がきて（イエスに）言った、「もしあなたが神の子であるなら、これらの石がパンになるように命じてごらんなさい[肉の欲]」。イエスは答えて言われた、「『人はパンだけで生きるものではなく、神の口から出る一つ一つの言で生きるものである』と書いてある」。次に悪魔は、･･･この世のすべての国々とその栄華[目の欲、虚栄]とを見せた。するとイエスは彼に言われた、「サタンよ、退け」。[1ヨハ2:16より] [マタ4:3,4,8,10]

主ご自身、試錬を受けて苦しまれたからこそ、試錬の中にある者たちを助けることができるのである。 [ヘブ2:18]

試錬を耐え忍ぶ人は、さいわいである。それを忍びとおしたなら、神を愛する者たちに約束されたいのちの冠を受けるであろう。 [ヤコ1:12]

March 17, Evening

In all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. [Heb.4:15]

When the woman saw that the tree was good for food [the lust of the flesh], and that it was pleasant to the eyes [the lust of the eyes], and a tree to be desired to make one wise [the pride of life], she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. [Gen.3:6]

When the tempter came to [Jesus], he said, if thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread [the lust of the flesh]. But he answered, ... Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. The devil ... sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them [the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life]. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan. [Matt.4:3,4,8-10]

In that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. [Heb.2:18]

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation. [Jas.1:12]
