御座のまわりには、緑玉のように見えるにじが現れていた。 [黙4:3]

これはわたしと、あなたがた及びあなたがたと共にいるすべての生き物との間に代々かぎりなく、わたしが立てる契約のしるしである。すなわち、わたしは雲の中に、にじを置く。これがわたしと地との間の契約のしるしとなる。にじが雲の中に現れるとき、わたしはこれを見て、神が地上にあるすべて肉なるあらゆる生き物との間に立てた永遠の契約を思いおこすであろう。 ■ 神が、よろず備わって確かなとこしえの契約をわたしと結ばれたからだ。 ■ それは、偽ることのあり得ない神に立てられた二つの不変の事がらによって、前におかれている望みを捕えようとして世をのがれてきたわたしたちが、力強い励ましを受けるためである。 [創9:12,13,16 | 2サム23:5 | ヘブ6:18]

わたしたちは、神が先祖たちに対してなされた約束を、ここに宣べ伝えているのである。神は、イエスをよみがえらせて、わたしたち子孫にこの約束を、お果しになった。 [使13:32,33]

February 26, Evening

There was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. [Rev.4:3]

This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud,... and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. ■ An everlasting covenant, ordered in all things and sure. ■ That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us. We declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, God hath fulfilled the same unto their children, in that He hath raised up Jesus again. [Acts.13:32]
