先には自分の罪過と罪とによって死んでいた者であって、･･･ほかの人々と同じく、生れながらの怒りの子であった。 ■ わたしは肉につける者であって、罪の下に売られているのである。わたしは自分のしていることが、わからない。なぜなら、わたしは自分の欲する事は行わず、かえって自分の憎む事をしているからである。わたしの内に、すなわち、わたしの肉の内には、善なるものが宿っていないことを、わたしは知っている。 [エペ2:1-3 | ロマ7:14,15,18]

ひとりの人によって、罪がこの世にはいり、･･･ひとりの人の不従順によって、多くの人が罪人とされた。 ■ もしひとりの罪過のために多くの人が死んだとすれば、まして、神の恵みと、ひとりの人イエス・キリストの恵みによる賜物とは、さらに豊かに多くの人々に満ちあふれたはずではないか。 [ロマ5:12,19 | ロマ5:15]

Adam ... begat a son in his own likeness. [Gen.5:3]

Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? ■ Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. [Job.14:4 | Psa.51:5]

Dead in trespasses and sins; ... by nature the children of wrath, even as others. ■ I am carnal, sold under sin. That which I do I allow not; for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. I know that in me [that is, in my flesh,] dwelleth no good thing. [Eph.2:1,3 | Rom.7:14,15,18]

By one man sin entered into the world, ... by one man's disobedience many were made sinners. ■ If through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. [Rom.5:12,19 | Rom.5:15]
