だれが「わたしは自分の心を清めた」ということができようか。 [箴20:9]

主は天から人の子らを見おろして、賢い者、神をたずね求める者があるかないかを見られた。彼らはみな迷い、みなひとしく腐れた。善を行う者はない、ひとりもない。 ■ また、肉にある者は、神を喜ばせることができない。 [詩14:2,3 | ロマ8:8]

善をしようとする意志は、自分にあるが、それをする力がないからである。すなわち、わたしの欲している善はしないで、欲していない悪は、これを行っている。 ■ われわれはみな木の葉のように枯れ、われわれの不義は風のようにわれわれを吹き去る。 [ロマ7:18,19 | イザ64:6]

約束が、信じる人々にイエス・キリストに対する信仰によって与えられるために、聖書はすべての人を罪の下に閉じ込めたのである。 ■ 神はキリストにおいて世をご自分に和解させ、その罪過の責任をこれに負わせることをしないで、･･･ [ガラ3:22 | 2コリ5:19]

もし、罪がないと言うなら、それは自分を欺くことであって、真理はわたしたちのうちにない。もし、わたしたちが自分の罪を告白するならば、神は真実で正しいかたであるから、その罪をゆるし、すべての不義からわたしたちをきよめて下さる。 [1ヨハ1:8,9]

Who can say, I have made my heart clean? [Prov.20:9]

The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. ■ They that are in the flesh cannot please God. [Psa.14:2,3 | Rom.8:8]

To will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. ■ We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags: and we all do fade as a leaf: and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. [Rom.7:18,19 | Isa.64:6]

The scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. ■ God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them. [Gal.3:22 | II Cor.5:19]

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [I John.1:8,9]
