わたしが律法や預言者を廃するためにきた、と思ってはならない。廃するためではなく、成就するためにきたのである。よく言っておく。天地が滅び行くまでは、律法の一点、一画もすたることはなく、ことごとく全うされるのである。 ■ 主はおのれの義のために、その教を大いなるものとし、かつ光栄あるものとすることを喜ばれた。 ■ わたしは言っておく。あなたがたの義が律法学者やパリサイ人の義にまさっていなければ、決して天国に、はいることはできない。 [マタ5:17,18 | イザ42:21 | マタ5:20]

律法が肉により無力になっているためになし得なかった事を、神はなし遂げて下さった。すなわち、御子を、罪の肉の様で罪のためにつかわし、肉において罪を罰せられたのである。これは律法の要求が、肉によらず霊によって歩くわたしたちにおいて、満たされるためである。 ■ キリストは、すべて信じる者に義を得させるために、律法の終りとなられたのである。 [ロマ8:3,4 | ロマ10:4]

Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. [Matt.3:15]

I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. [Psa.40:8]

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. ■ The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable. ■ Except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. What the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. ■ Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
