今われわれは高ぶる者を、祝福された者と思う。 [マラ3:15]

いと高く、いと上なる者、とこしえに住む者、その名を聖ととなえられる者がこう言われる、「わたしは高く、聖なる所に住み、また心砕けて、へりくだる者と共に住み、へりくだる者の霊をいかし、砕ける者の心をいかす。 [イザ57:15]

へりくだって貧しい人々と共におるのは、高ぶる者と共にいて、獲物を分けるにまさる。 ■ こころの貧しい人たちは、さいわいである、天国は彼らのものである。 [箴16:19 | マタ5:3]

主の憎まれるものが六つある、否、その心に、忌みきらわれるものが七つある。すなわち、高ぶる目、･･･ ■ すべて心に高ぶる者は主に憎まれる。 [箴6:16-19 | 箴16:5]

神よ、どうか、わたしを探って、わが心を知り、わたしを試みて、わがもろもろの思いを知ってください。わたしに悪しき道のあるかないかを見て、わたしをとこしえの道に導いてください。 [詩139:23,24]

Now we call the proud happy. [Mal.3:15]

Thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. [Isa.57:15]

Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. ■ Blessed are the poor in spirit for their's is the kingdom of heaven. [Prov.16:19 | Matt.5:3]

These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: a proud look, ... . ■ Every one that is proud of heart is an abomination to the Lord. [Prov.6:16,17 | Prov.16:5]

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. [Psa.139:23,24]
