実を結ぶものは、もっと豊かに実らせるために、手入れしてこれをきれいになさるのである。 [ヨハ15:2]

彼は金をふきわける者の火のようであり、布さらしの灰汁のようである。彼は銀をふきわけて清める者のように座して、レビの子孫を清め、金銀のように彼らを清める。そして彼らは義をもって、ささげ物を主にささげる。 [マラ3:2,3]

患難をも喜んでいる。なぜなら、患難は忍耐を生み出し、忍耐は錬達を生み出し、錬達は希望を生み出すことを、知っているからである。そして、希望は失望に終ることはない。なぜなら、わたしたちに賜わっている聖霊によって、神の愛がわたしたちの心に注がれているからである。 ■ あなたがたは訓練として耐え忍びなさい。神はあなたがたを、子として取り扱っておられるのである。いったい、父に訓練されない子があるだろうか。だれでも受ける訓練が、あなたがたに与えられないとすれば、それこそ、あなたがたは私生子であって、ほんとうの子ではない。すべての訓練は、当座は、喜ばしいものとは思われず、むしろ悲しいものと思われる。しかし後になれば、それによって鍛えられる者に、平安な義の実を結ばせるようになる。それだから、あなたがたのなえた手と、弱くなっているひざとを、まっすぐにしなさい。 [ロマ5:3-5 | ヘブ12:7,8,11,12]

Every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it. [John.15:2]

He is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: and he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. [Mal.3:2,3]

We glory in tribulations: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. ■ If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons, for what son is he whom the Father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
