貧しい者と乏しい者とは水を求めても、水がなく、その舌がかわいて焼けているとき、主なるわたしは彼らに答える。 [イザ41:17]

多くの人は言う、「どうか、わたしたちに良い事が見られるように」と。 ■ そもそも、人は日の下で労するすべての労苦と、その心づかいによってなんの得るところがあるか。そのすべての日はただ憂いのみであって、そのわざは苦しく、その心は夜の間も休まることがない。皆空であって、風を捕えるようである。 ■ それは、わたしの民が･･･生ける水の源であるわたしを捨てて、自分で水ためを掘った。それは、こわれた水ためで、水を入れておくことのできないものだ。 [詩4:6 | 伝2:22,23,17 | エレ2:13]

When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the Lord will hear them. [Isa.41:17]

There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? ■ What hath man of all his labour, and of the vexation of his heart, wherein he hath laboured under the sun? For all his days are sorrows, and his travail grief; yea, his heart taketh not rest in the night. All is vanity and vexation of spirit. ■ They have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
