この世で身分の低い者や軽んじられている者、あえて選ばれたのである。 [1コリ1:28]

不品行な者、偶像を礼拝する者、姦淫をする者、男娼となる者、男色をする者、盗む者、貪欲な者、酒に酔う者、そしる者、略奪する者は、いずれも神の国をつぐことはないのである。あなたがたの中には、以前はそんな人もいた。しかし、あなたがたは、主イエス・キリストの名によって、またわたしたちの神の霊によって、洗われ、きよめられ、義とされたのである。 [1コリ6:9-11]

さてあなたがたは、先には自分の罪過と罪とによって死んでいた者であって、かつてはそれらの中で、この世のならわしに従い、･･･歩いていたのである。また、わたしたちもみな、かつては彼らの中にいて、肉の欲に従って日を過ごし、肉とその思いとの欲するままを行うものであった。 [エペ2:1-3]

ただ神のあわれみによって、再生の洗いを受け、聖霊により新たにされて、わたしたちは救われたのである。この聖霊は、わたしたちの救主イエス・キリストをとおして、わたしたちの上に豊かに注がれた。 [テト3:5,6]

わが思いは、あなたがたの思いとは異なり、わが道は、あなたがたの道とは異なっていると主は言われる。 [イザ55:8]

August 13, Evening

Base things of the world hath God chosen. [I Cor.1:28]

Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolators, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. [I Cor.6:9-11]

You hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world; among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind. [Eph.2:1-3]

According to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour. [Tit.3:5,6]
