キリストの苦難がわたしたちに満ちあふれているように、わたしたちの受ける慰めもまた、キリストによって満ちあふれている。 [2コリ1:5]

キリストの苦難にあずかる。 ■ むしろ、キリストの苦しみにあずかればあずかるほど、喜ぶがよい。それは、キリストの栄光が現れる際に、よろこびにあふれるためである。 ■ もしわたしたちが、彼と共に死んだなら、また彼と共に生きるであろう。 ■ もし子であれば、相続人でもある。神の相続人であって、キリストと栄光を共にするために苦難をも共にしている以上、キリストと共同の相続人なのである。 [ピリ3:10 | 1ペテ4:13 | 2テモ2:11 | ロマ8:17]

神は、約束のものを受け継ぐ人々に、ご計画の不変であることを、いっそうはっきり示そうと思われ、誓いによって保証されたのである。それは、偽ることのあり得ない神に立てられた二つの不変の事がらによって、前におかれている望みを捕えようとして世をのがれてきたわたしたちが、力強い励ましを受けるためである。 ■ どうか、わたしたちの主イエス・キリストご自身と、わたしたちを愛し、恵みをもって永遠の慰めと確かな望みとを賜わるわたしたちの父なる神とが、あなたがたの心を励まし、あなたがたを強めて、すべての良いわざを行い、正しい言葉を語る者として下さるように。 [ヘブ6:17,18 | 2テサ2:16,17]

As the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. [II Cor.1:5]

The fellowship of his sufferings. ■ Rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. ■ For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him. ■ If children, then heirs; heirs of God, and jointheirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us. ■ Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
