さて、信仰とは、望んでいる事がらを確信し、まだ見ていない事実を確認することである。 [ヘブ11:1]

もしわたしたちが、この世の生活でキリストにあって単なる望みをいだいているだけだとすれば、わたしたちは、すべての人の中で最もあわれむべき存在となる。 [1コリ15:19]

「目がまだ見ず、耳がまだ聞かず、人の心に思い浮びもしなかったことを、神は、ご自分を愛する者たちのために備えられた」のである。そして、それを神は、御霊によってわたしたちに啓示して下さったのである。 ■ あなたがたもまた、彼を信じた結果、約束された聖霊の証印をおされたのである。この聖霊は、わたしたちが神の国をつぐことの保証であって、やがて神につける者が全くあがなわれるためである。 [1コリ2:9,10 | エペ1:13,14]

イエスは彼に言われた、「あなたはわたしを見たので信じたのか。見ないで信ずる者は、さいわいである」。 ■ あなたがたは、イエス・キリストを見たことはないが、彼を愛している。現在、見てはいないけれども、信じて、言葉につくせない、輝きにみちた喜びにあふれている。それは、信仰の結果なるたましいの救を得ているからである。 [ヨハ20:29 | 1ペテ1:8,9]

わたしたちは、見えるものによらないで、信仰によって歩いているのである。 ■ あなたがたは自分の持っている確信を放棄してはいけない。その確信には大きな報いが伴っているのである。 [2コリ5:7 | ヘブ10:35]

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. [Heb.11:1]

If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. [I Cor.15:19]

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit. ■ After that ye believed ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession. [I Cor.2:9,10 | Eph.1:13,14]

Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed; blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. ■ Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. We walk by faith, not by sight. ■ Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. [II Cor.5:7 | Heb.10:35]
