主は雲をひろげておおいとし、夜は火をもって照された。 [詩105:39]

父がその子供をあわれむように、主はおのれを恐れる者をあわれまれる。主はわれらの造られたさまを知り、われらのちりであることを覚えていられるからである。 [詩103:13,14]

昼は太陽があなたを撃つことなく、夜は月があなたを撃つことはない。 ■ 主は･･･つくられる。･･･これは天蓋であり、あずまやであって、昼は暑さをふせぐ陰となる。 [詩121:6 | イザ4:5,6]

主はあなたを守る者、主はあなたの右の手をおおう陰である。主は今からとこしえに至るまで、あなたの出ると入るとを守られるであろう。 ■ 主は彼らの前に行かれ、昼は雲の柱をもって彼らを導き、夜は火の柱をもって彼らを照し、昼も夜も彼らを進み行かせられた。昼は雲の柱、夜は火の柱が、民の前から離れなかった。 [詩121:5,8 | 出13:21,22]

May 5, Evening

He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night. [Psa.105:39]

Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. [Psa.103:13,14]

The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. ■ There shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain, [Psa.121:6 | Isa.4:6]

The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. ■ The Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: he took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
