主よ、わが口に門守を置いて、わがくちびるの戸を守ってください。 [詩141:3]

口にはいるものは人を汚すことはない。かえって、口から出るものが人を汚すのである。 [マタ15:11]

偽る者は争いを起し、つげ口する者は親しい友を離れさせる。 ■ つるぎをもって刺すように、みだりに言葉を出す者がある、しかし知恵ある人の舌は人をいやす。真実を言うくちびるは、いつまでも保つ、偽りを言う舌は、ただ、まばたきの間だけである。 ■ ところが、舌を制しうる人は、ひとりもいない。それは、制しにくい悪であって、死の毒に満ちている。同じ口から、賛美とのろいとが出て来る。わたしの兄弟たちよ。このような事は、あるべきでない。 [箴16:28 | 箴12:18,19 | ヤコ3:10]

Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. [Psa.141:3]

If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? ■ They provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips. [Psa.130:3 | Psa.106:33]

Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. [Matt.15:11]

A whisperer separateth chief friends. ■ There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health. The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment. ■ The tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
