荒野における試錬の日。 [ヘブ3:8]

だれでも誘惑に会う場合、「この誘惑は、神からきたものだ」と言ってはならない。神は悪の誘惑に陥るようなかたではなく、また自ら進んで人を誘惑することもなさらない。人が誘惑に陥るのは、それぞれ、欲に引かれ、さそわれるからである。欲がはらんで罪を生み、罪が熟して死を生み出す。 [ヤコ1:13-15]

野でわがままな欲望を起し、荒野で神を試みた。 [詩106:14]

イエスは聖霊に満ちて･･･荒野を四十日のあいだ御霊にひきまわされて、悪魔の試みにあわれた。そのあいだ何も食べず、その日数がつきると、空腹になられた。そこで悪魔が言った、「もしあなたが神の子であるなら、この石に、パンになれと命じてごらんなさい」。 [ルカ4:1-3]

主ご自身、試錬を受けて苦しまれたからこそ、試錬の中にある者たちを助けることができるのである。 ■ シモン、シモン、見よ、サタンはあなたがたを麦のようにふるいにかけることを願って許された。しかし、わたしはあなたの信仰がなくならないように、あなたのために祈った。 [ヘブ2:18 | ルカ22:31,32]

The day of temptation in the wilderness. [Heb.3:8]

Let no man say, when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: but every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin. [Jas.1:13-15]

They lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert. [Psa.106:14]

Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. [Luke.4:1-3]

He himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. ■ Simon, Simon, ... Satan hath desired to have you, that he might sift you as wheat: but I have prayed for thee that thy faith fail not. [Heb.2:18 | Luke.22:31,32]
