夜が来る。すると、だれも働けなくなる。 [ヨハ9:4]

主にあって死ぬ死人はさいわいである･･･彼らはその労苦を解かれて休み、そのわざは彼らについていく。 ■ かしこでは悪人も、あばれることをやめ、うみ疲れた者も、休みを得る。 ■ サムエルはサウルに言った、「なぜ、わたしを呼び起して、わたしを煩わすのか」。 [黙14:13 | ヨブ3:17,18 | 1サム28:15]

すべてあなたの手のなしうる事は、力をつくしてなせ。あなたの行く陰府には、わざも、計略も、知識も、知恵もないからである。 ■ 死んだ者も、音なき所に下る者も、主をほめたたえることはない。 [伝9:10 | 詩115:17]

わたしは、すでに自身を犠牲としてささげている。わたしが世を去るべき時はきた。わたしは戦いをりっぱに戦いぬき、走るべき行程を走りつくし、信仰を守りとおした。今や、義の冠がわたしを待っているばかりである。かの日には、公平な審判者である主が、それを授けて下さるであろう。わたしばかりではなく、主の出現を心から待ち望んでいたすべての人にも授けて下さるであろう。 [2テモ4:6-8]

安息日の休みが、神の民のためにまだ残されているのである。なぜなら、神の安息にはいった者は、神がみわざをやめて休まれたように、自分もわざを休んだからである。 [ヘブ4:9,10]

February 9, Evening

The night cometh when no man can work. [John.9:4]

Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord, ... they ... rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. ■ There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest. ■ Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? [Rev.14:13 | Job.3:17 | I Sam.28:15]

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. ■ The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence. [Eccl.9:10 | Psa.115:17]

I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day. [II Tim.4:6-8]

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. [Heb.4:9,10]
