謙遜の限りをつくし･･･主に仕えてきた。 [使20:19]

あなたがたの間ではそうであってはならない。かえって、あなたがたの間で偉くなりたいと思う者は、仕える人となり、あなたがたの間でかしらになりたいと思う者は、僕とならねばならない。それは、人の子がきたのも、仕えられるためではなく、仕えるためであり、また多くの人のあがないとして、自分の命を与えるためであるのと、ちょうど同じである」。 [マタ20:26-28]

もしある人が、事実そうでないのに、自分が何か偉い者であるように思っているとすれば、その人は自分を欺いているのである。 ■ わたしは、自分に与えられた恵みによって、あなたがたひとりびとりに言う。思うべき限度を越えて思いあがることなく、むしろ、神が各自に分け与えられた信仰の量りにしたがって、慎み深く思うべきである。 ■ 同様にあなたがたも、命じられたことを皆してしまったとき、『わたしたちはふつつかな僕です。すべき事をしたに過ぎません』と言いなさい」。 [ガラ6:3,4 | ロマ12:3 | ルカ17:10]

さて、わたしたちがこの世で、･･･人間の知恵によってではなく神の恵みによって、神の神聖と真実とによって行動してきたことは、実にわたしたちの誇である。 ■ しかしわたしたちは、この宝を土の器の中に持っている。その測り知れない力は神のものであって、わたしたちから出たものでないことが、あらわれるためである。 [2コリ1:12 | 2コリ4:7]

Serving the Lord with all humility of mind. [Acts.20:19]

Whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. [Matt.20:26-28]

If a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. ■ I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man, ... not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. ■ When ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
