すなわち、わたしたちのうち、だれひとり自分のために生きる者はなく、だれひとり自分のために死ぬ者はない。 [ロマ14:7]

わたしたちは、生きるのも主のために生き、死ぬのも主のために死ぬ。だから、生きるにしても死ぬにしても、わたしたちは主のものなのである。 ■ だれでも、自分の益を求めないで、ほかの人の益を求めるべきである。 ■ あなたがたは、代価を払って買いとられたのだ。それだから、自分のからだをもって、神の栄光をあらわしなさい。 [ロマ14:8 | 1コリ10:24 | 1コリ6:20]

そこで、わたしが切実な思いで待ち望むことは、･･･生きるにも死ぬにも、わたしの身によってキリストがあがめられることである。わたしにとっては、生きることはキリストであり、死ぬことは益である。しかし、肉体において生きていることが、わたしにとっては実り多い働きになるのだとすれば、どちらを選んだらよいか、わたしにはわからない。わたしは、これら二つのものの間に板ばさみになっている。わたしの願いを言えば、この世を去ってキリストと共にいることであり、実は、その方がはるかに望ましい。 [ピリ1:20-23]

わたしは、神に生きるために、律法によって律法に死んだ。わたしはキリストと共に十字架につけられた。生きているのは、もはや、わたしではない。キリストが、わたしのうちに生きておられるのである。しかし、わたしがいま肉にあって生きているのは、わたしを愛し、わたしのためにご自身をささげられた神の御子を信じる信仰によって、生きているのである。 [ガラ2:19,20]

August 22, Morning

None of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. [Rom.14:7]

Whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. ■ Let no man seek his own: but every man another's wealth. ■ Ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. [Rom.14:8 | I Cor.10:24 | I Cor.6:20]

Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better. [Phi.1:20-23]

I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. [Gal.2:19,20]
