死の力を持つ者、すなわち悪魔を、ご自分の死によって滅ぼした。 [ヘブ2:14]

わたしたちの救主キリスト・イエスは死を滅ぼし、福音によっていのちと不死とを明らかに示されたのである。 ■ 主はとこしえに死を滅ぼし、主なる神はすべての顔から涙をぬぐい、その民のはずかしめを全地の上から除かれる。これは主の語られたことである。 ■ この朽ちるものが朽ちないものを着、この死ぬものが死なないものを着るとき、聖書に書いてある言葉が成就するのである。「死は勝利にのまれてしまった。死よ、おまえの勝利は、どこにあるのか。死よ、おまえのとげは、どこにあるのか」。死のとげは罪である。罪の力は律法である。しかし感謝すべきことには、神はわたしたちの主イエス・キリストによって、わたしたちに勝利を賜わったのである。 [2テモ1:10 | イザ25:8 | 1コリ15:54-57]

That through death He might destroy him that had the power of death. [Heb.2:14]

Our Saviour Jesus Christ ... hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. ■ He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD shall wipe away the tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it. ■ When this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
