主は高い所からみ手を伸べて、わたしを捕え、大水からわたしを引きあげ、 [詩18:16]

主はわたしを滅びの穴から、泥の沼から引きあげて、わたしの足を岩の上におき、わたしの歩みをたしかにされた。 ■ さてあなたがたは、先には自分の罪過と罪とによって死んでいた者であって、かつてはそれらの中で、この世のならわしに従い、空中の権をもつ君、すなわち、不従順の子らの中に今も働いている霊に従って、歩いていたのである。また、わたしたちもみな、かつては･･･肉の欲に従って日を過ごし、肉とその思いとの欲するままを行っていた。 [詩40:2 | エペ2:1-3]

August 4, Evening

He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters. [Psa.18:16]

He brought me up ... out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. ■ You hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world. Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed. ■ Out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.
