わたしたちが罪に死に、義に生きるために。 [1ペテ2:24]

すなわち、あなたがたは、以前の生活に属する、情欲に迷って滅び行く古き人を脱ぎ捨て、心の深みまで新たにされて、真の義と聖とをそなえた神にかたどって造られた新しき人を着るべきである。 [エペ4:22-24]

あなたがたはすでに死んだものであって、あなたがたのいのちは、キリストと共に神のうちに隠されているのである。 ■ キリストが父の栄光によって、死人の中からよみがえらされたように、わたしたちもまた、新しいいのちに生きるためである。 ■ わたしたちは、この事を知っている。わたしたちの内の古き人はキリストと共に十字架につけられた。それは、この罪のからだが滅び、わたしたちがもはや、罪の奴隷となることがないためである。それは、すでに死んだ者は、罪から解放されているからである。 ■ このように、あなたがた自身も、罪に対して死んだ者であり、キリスト・イエスにあって神に生きている者であることを、認むべきである。だから、あなたがたの死ぬべきからだを罪の支配にゆだねて、その情欲に従わせることをせず、･･･むしろ、死人の中から生かされた者として、自分自身を神にささげ、自分の肢体を義の武器として神にささげるがよい。 [コロ3:3 | ロマ6:4 | ロマ6:6,7 | ロマ6:11-13]

We, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness. [I Pet.2:24]

Put off, concerning the former conversation, the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts: and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and ... put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. [Eph.4:22-24]

Ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God. ■ As Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. ■ Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. ■ Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
