都は、日や月がそれを照す必要がない。神の栄光が都を明るくし、小羊が都のあかりだからである。 [黙21:23]

王よ、その途中、真昼に、光が天からさして来るのを見ました。それは、太陽よりも、もっと光り輝いて、わたしと同行者たちとをめぐり照しました。そこで、わたしが『主よ、あなたはどなたですか』と尋ねると、主は言われた、『わたしは、あなたが迫害しているイエスである。 ■ イエスはペテロ、ヤコブ、ヤコブの兄弟ヨハネだけを連れて、高い山に登られた。ところが、彼らの目の前でイエスの姿が変り、その顔は日のように輝き、その衣は光のように白くなった。 ■ 昼は、もはや太陽があなたの光とならず、夜も月が輝いてあなたを照さず、主はとこしえにあなたの光となり、あなたの神はあなたの栄えとなられる。あなたの太陽は再び没せず、あなたの月はかけることがない。主がとこしえにあなたの光となり、あなたの悲しみの日が終るからである。 [使26:13,15 | マタ17:1,2 | イザ60:19,20]

May 26, Evening

The city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. [Rev.21:23]

I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me. And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. ■ Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John. his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, and was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. ■ The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.
