見よ、あなたは真実を心のうちに求められます。それゆえ、わたしの隠れた心に知恵を教えてください。 ■ 不信心とこの世の情欲とを捨てて、慎み深く、正しく、信心深くこの世で生活するようにと、教えている。 ■ あなたがたの光を人々の前に輝かし、そして、人々があなたがたのよいおこないを見て、天にいますあなたがたの父をあがめるようにしなさい。 ■ わたしがすでにそれを得たとか、すでに完全な者になっているとか言うのではない。 [詩51:6 | テト2:12,13 | マタ5:16 | ピリ3:12]

わたしたちを、この事にかなう者にして下さったのは、神である。そして、神はその保証として御霊をわたしたちに賜わったのである。 ■ それは、聖徒たちをととのえて奉仕のわざをさせ、キリストのからだを建てさせ、わたしたちすべての者が、神の子を信じる信仰の一致と彼を知る知識の一致とに到達し、全き人となり、ついに、キリストの満ちみちた徳の高さにまで至るためである。 [2コリ5:5 | エペ4:12,13]

Perfecting holiness in the fear of God. [II Cor.7:1]

Dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit. [II Cor.7:1]

Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. ■ Teaching us that denying ungodliness and wordly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. ■ Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. ■ Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect. Every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. [I John.3:3]
